Sweetwater Combined Communications – Operational Messaging via RAVE Alert
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information in connection with the operational messaging platform.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the service:
- Name (when provided)
- Phone number(s)
- Email address
- Agency affiliation / employment information (as provided by the agency)
- Message delivery logs and opt-out records (as generated by the system)
We do not collect information directly from the general public for this operational messaging service. Contact information is provided by the employing agencies.
How We Use Information
We use the information solely to:
- Enroll and maintain contacts in the RAVE Alert system for operational messaging
- Send text messages and phone calls related to incidents, training, personnel backfill, and other official operational needs
- Process opt-out and removal requests
- Maintain accurate records and comply with legal obligations
How We Share Information
- Information is shared with RAVE Mobile Safety (or its successors) as necessary to operate the messaging platform.
- We may share information with the employing agency that requested enrollment.
- We do not sell, rent, or share contact information for marketing or commercial purposes.
- We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SCCC, first responders, or the public.
Data Retention
We retain contact information for as long as the individual remains enrolled or as needed for operational and record-keeping purposes. Upon confirmed removal/opt-out or agency notification of termination, we will remove or deactivate the contact from active messaging lists within a reasonable time. Residual records (e.g., delivery logs) may be retained as required for system administration, auditing, or legal compliance.
Your Choices and Rights
- You may request removal at any time by replying STOP to a text or contacting SCCC/your agency.
- Agencies control the initial provision of data and are responsible for accuracy and updates.
- Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your information. Submit requests through your agency or official SCCC channels.
Security
We and our service provider (RAVE) implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
This service is not directed at children and is intended solely for authorized adult first responders.
Third-Party Services
The messaging platform is powered by RAVE Alert. Use of RAVE is also subject to RAVE’s own terms and privacy practices. We encourage you to review RAVE’s policies (available at getrave.com or ravemobilesafety.com).
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be communicated reasonably.
