Sweetwater County Courthouse to reopen Monday, May 18, 2020 with the following guidelines:

On March 18, 2020, the Sweetwater County Courthouse was closed by resolution due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  In accordance with the recommendations of the State Public Health Officer and in cooperation with the Sweetwater Public Health Officer, the Sweetwater Courthouse will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020.  Sweetwater County strongly encourages the public to cooperate with the following facility modifications and COVID-19 safety precautions;

1. Entrance to Courthouse:  All persons wishing to access the County Clerk, County Treasurer, County Attorney, County Assessor, Human Resources, IT, Land Use or Engineering shall enter the Courthouse from the South entrance from Flaming Gorge Way.  This will be the only permitted entrance to access these offices.
2. Exit the Courthouse:  All persons exiting the courthouse shall exit the facility using the West exit on W. 1^st North Street.  This will assist us in maintaining social distancing within the courthouse.
3. Face Coverings: These are strongly encouraged for all persons coming to do business at the courthouse for the safety of the public and staff.  Face coverings help contain water droplets, potentially containing COVID-19 and are spread when sneezing, coughing or exhaling.
4. Door Attendants:  Door attendants will be at the South and West entrance/exit to the Courthouse to assist the public in navigating to their desired office.  The attendants will also limit the number of people in the facility and a particular department at any one time, to minimize lines and maintain social distancing guidelines.
5. Hand Sanitizing Stations: These will be available to the public at the entrance and exit to the courthouse, as well as in the hallways and office suites of the various departments.
6. Hand Washing:  The CDC and public health officials recommend frequent hand washing as one of the most effective ways of preventing COVID-19 spread.  Facilities are available throughout the Courthouse for this purpose.
7. Social Distancing: Please try to remain six (6) feet away from all people that are not in your group.
8. Limit Group Size:  Please limit the number of people in your group to those necessary to conduct your business.
9. Efficiently Conduct Business:  We ask that all members of the public promptly enter the courthouse, conduct their necessary business and exit as soon as possible so that others may be served.  Please limit loitering and social interaction.
10. Floor Markings and Guidance:  Markings and pathways will be indicated on the floor to assist the public in traveling to the proper offices, while maintaining social distancing.
11. Continue to Use Online Resources, Drop Boxes, Mail and Other Convenient Services:  To avoid lines and the risks of COVID-19 exposure, please visit the County website to explore alternative ways of receiving County services.

Special Notices:

1. Sweetwater County Assessors:  will not be providing notary services at this time.
2. Courthouse Hours of Operation:  8:00a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Doors close at 5:00 p.m., so please allow yourself time to complete your business before this deadline.
